Welcome to Sky Land Logistics

The day and age of Shipping Freight has seen a drastic change in the last 15 years. There was once a time where a cargo Traditional Carrier will dominate the heavyweight market is sending large fleet of cars, brand name recognition, and is called ability to service their customers in total shipping needs. Much like the deregulation of telecommunication industry in 1996, when smaller companies were finally allowed to participate in the booming telecommunications market, the freight industry witnessed a resurrection, where smaller regional carriers began to understand that there is a market for them. By specializing in smaller sections of their local areas, the company started to develop a niche. The larger carriers a choice to make, or if they do not want to compete, or allow the lanes, and they elected the ladder. Although the freight industry will not have any "mandate" in the presence of the customer to use the carriers, the big guys seem to corner the market on almost every heavyweight shipping needs, mainly because of their size and being famous.

Fast forward to 2010, and another entity has developed, and took the Transportation Industry by storm. The concept of Third Party Logistics is swept by the shipping industry and transformed the way companies do business.
3PL's came along and decided, not just focus on a customer share small business, or heavyweight freight business, but to view their entire supply chain. So they came up with the idea of going to the small parcel industry, the major traditional carriers, the regional carrier, and the freight forwarding community to negotiate rates, to go out and you ALL offers services to a client base. To say the idea worked is an understatement, the 3PL market is now in the area of $ 110,000,000,000 dollars.
